Kim Crowley

Capstone Coordinator

Kim Crowley holds a B.A. in English from the University of New Hampshire. In 1989, Kim began a career in educational publishing as a development editor and project manager, and for the past twenty-three years, she has run her own business, partnering with educational publishers to develop and write curriculum, textbooks, and products for the high school and college markets. From 2005 through 2007, Kim was the Registrar of the Nutfield Cooperative School, and Secretary of the school’s Board of Directors. In 2012, Kim got involved in the creation of Next Charter School, serving as Vice Chair and then Chair of its Board of Trustees, serving on multiple committees, and volunteering two days a week mentoring students.  Kim and her husband Cy have lived in Derry for more than 20 years, and raised a family of two boys and one dog. Kim believes that at any age, every person has the opportunity to be both a learner and a teacher, especially when we engage in meaningful relationships with one another. Such relationships can foster our curiosity, empathy, flexibility, perseverance, and ultimately, self-knowledge.  As Capstone Coordinator, Kim brings her unique blend of experiences in both the professional and educational worlds to guide and support students as they explore, build, and learn from relationships with adults in professional environments.

Patty Miloro

Mathematics

Patty earned her B.S. in Mathematics Education and her M.Ed. in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire.  Before staying home to raise her four boys, she taught in the Derry and Nashua school systems.  She has more than ten years experience as a private math tutor working with middle and high school students.  Her students have taught her that everyone can be a successful mathematician and many are far more capable than they believe themselves to be.  It is her goal that all learners feel confident in their mathematical abilities and recognize their unique mathematical thinking as an individual strength.  A busy mom, Patty enjoys settling in with a good book. She recently decided to raise chickens in her backyard and can’t wait to find that first egg in the nesting box this fall.  When and if she gets control of the television, she enjoys watching historical documentaries and sharing a good laugh with her boys watching reruns of Senfield and The Middle.

Kelly Nolan

Humanities

Kelly earned a B.A. in both Sociology and Justice Studies from the University of New Hampshire and an M.Ed. in Secondary Social Studies from Southern New Hampshire University. She believes that no student should have to sit through 6 straight hours of instruction. Therefore, she is a proponent of incorporating movement into her classroom. In her spare time, she enjoys physical activity, watching sloth videos, and playing with her dogs. Fittingly enough, with her background, Kelly’s favorite TV show is House of Cards. She is eager to start her teaching career at Next, where she hopes to build strong relationships with students. It is her goal to enable all students to be well rounded, educated citizens.

Emily grew up on a small farm in upstate New York. After earning a B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell University, she spent several years working on tall ships, where she taught everything from oceanography to maritime lore.
